Nuclear War is something that is most hated by humanity today. Some scientists even say that in the past, advanced civilizations were destroyed by nuclear war, as evidenced by nuclear radiation in Mohenjo Daro. Mohenjo Daro is located in the Indian subcontinent. In India itself, there is a sacred scripture that, when read by modern people today, is like reading a science fiction novel because it contains a weapon that, when fired, will have the same impact as a nuclear weapon and even has flying vehicles like UFOs.
Nuclear bombs can occur due to a chemical reaction between atoms called a fission atom. So the atom splits from one to two and so on exponentially, as fission occurs, there is energy released that causes explosions and destruction if misused.
Nevertheless, it was the nuclear bomb that ended World War II and contributed to Indonesia's independence. The nuclear bomb dropped by the United States on Hiroshima and Nagasaki made Nippon (Japan) surrender to the Allied forces and gave Indonesia, which was then colonized by Japan, the opportunity to proclaim independence.
What Is Climate Change
2022 is a bad year for the Global Climate Crisis, with disasters occurring everywhere. Starting from floods, storms, and desertification. For example, in the United States there were floods and also in our own country. Or the transformation of fertile land into barren land due to a lack of rainfall, unlike previous years. Or if we look at English football, it appears very hot during the games, even though in the northern hemisphere it should be cold. This is due to the Global Climate Crisis, which is causing climate change around the world unlike before.
The Global Climate Crisis occurs mainly due to fossil fuels. Fossil fuels are hydrocarbons, meaning energy containing carbon, which when used will become waste and pollute the environment. The common occurrence is that carbon pollutes the air as carbon dioxide and monoxide. Carbon dioxide is called a greenhouse gas because it is commonly used in greenhouses to increase greenhouse temperature and accelerate plant growth. If carbon dioxide pollutes the air, then the greenhouse effect occurs, causing an increase in surface temperature of the Earth.
When the surface temperature of the Earth is hotter than usual, the cycle that occurs in the wind will be disrupted because wind movement is very sensitive to temperature changes. If this happens, a global climate crisis will occur.
In the past decade, there were extraordinary snowstorms in Texas and New Mexico, causing 35,000 cows to die. Floods occurred in Saudi Arabia even though there should have been little rain. The economic impact of the Global Climate Crisis is not proportional to the benefits of fossil energy, so solutions must be sought.
Nevertheless, there are already several solutions to the Global Climate Crisis, namely by switching to environmentally friendly energy or pumping the carbon dioxide in the air and returning it to the ground, so that the greenhouse effect can be reduced.
Ukraina-Rusia Conflict
The Ukraine-Russia conflict that heated up eventually resulted in a war in early 2022. Since then, tens of thousands of Russian soldiers have died and many buildings in Ukraine have been destroyed. However, it's not just those affected, the whole world is affected.
Since the Ukraine-Russia war, there has been global economic instability due to the volatility of energy and fertilizer prices. In Indonesia, for example, the fuel prices were increased by 30%.
But the worst has yet to come. The fear is that a Nuclear War may occur, which could be initiated either by the United States/West attacking Moscow or Russia launching its nuclear missiles. The use of nuclear bombs not only damages buildings but also leaves radioactive waste that won't disappear anytime soon.
Although a Nuclear War might happen, it would only occur in the northern hemisphere, so Indonesia could still breathe a little easier, although there would still be global economic instability if a Nuclear War occurred.
How The Hell Nuclear Could Save Climate Crisis ?
Nuclear war can solve the Climate Crisis, some scientists say. However, only a small-scale nuclear war, not a mutually destructive one that could send civilization back millennia.
So, the small-scale nuclear war in question would involve the use of 50 to 100 nuclear bombs with the same level of destruction as the ones used on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
The scenario is as follows: nuclear bombs would explode and cover the Earth with smoke, which would block the sun's rays from reaching the surface. This would cause cooling on the Earth's surface for a period of time.
It is estimated that this could lower temperatures by 2.25 degrees Fahrenheit in the northern and southern hemispheres, and by 7.2 degrees Fahrenheit in tropical regions.
However, the effects of a nuclear bomb could have negative impacts on agricultural crops, potentially leading to a food crisis. It could also destroy the ozone layer, which would allow harmful Ultraviolet radiation to reach the Earth's surface, endangering the future of civilization.
So, is a nuclear war worth it? No.
